Influenza II
September 8 - November 15, 1997

In the fall of 1996, Aquarius Records opened at its new Mission District location and became the first place in San Francisco to exclusively show music photography on a not-for-profit basis. One year later the space is still going strong after having shown the work of eight different photographers in the first twelve months.

To celebrate the first year of exhibiting music photography at Aquarius Records, photographers Gail Butensky and Erik Auerbach return with a new collection of work entitled INFLUENZA II. The inaugural INFLUENZA show at Aquarius featured Black & White work from 1981-1986, which included images of such influential stalwarts as Alex Chilton, The Minutemen and The Replacements. The sphere of influence expands with INFLUENZA II to include color photographs taken between 1980 and the early 1990's of Television, Pavement, Devo, Boss Hogg and many more.

There will be an opening reception for the artists at Aquarius Records on Thursday, September 11th from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Aquarius is located at 1055 Valencia Street near 22nd Street. Please call the store at 647-2272 for any further information.
